It's the Honors College Student Showcase for 2025! Several of our students presented their ePortfolios this year—highlighting their experiences and accomplishments as an Honors College scholar—while others created graphics or physical pieces to showcase what they've worked tirelessly on. This year was also the first time we awarded a student the Outstanding Honors Contract Award—a faculty-nominated award for students who went above and beyond on their honors contract project. Our first student to receive this award was Sarah Grace Wiggins! We hope you enjoy viewing her and our other scholars’ incredible submissions for this year’s showcase.

A.G.E.N.T. of Change
The goal of my project was to design a six-week art class curriculum that inspired teachers and students to use their art to make a difference in the world. Through this curriculum participants learn that through educating themselves and others in the art world and beyond, we can become agents of change.

Day Trading: Best Loser Wins
The goal of this project was to determine whether achieving consistent, above-market profitability with day trading was possible for the average aspiring day trader. We found that 97% of day traders would, in the long run, be better off passively investing in the S&P 500 and that the day trading industry is largely sustained by get-rich-quick dreams of attaining seven-figure financial freedom.

Honors Students’ Perceived Value of Community Service
The Honors College at IU Indianapolis requires its scholarship students to volunteer with the goal of developing as civic-minded graduates. For each volunteering experience, students are required to answer reflection questions on what they learned, the value, and how they will approach volunteering in the future. Based on an initial review of the responses from the 2023-2024 academic year, we developed our research question: “How do honors students perceive the value of community service?” To answer this question, we took a qualitative approach based on inductive and deductive coding to identify themes in the data.
