About the Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program
Named in honor of Gerald Bepko, IUPUI Chancellor Emeritus, the Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program attracts the best and brightest to IU Indianapolis and supports them through their undergraduate and graduate educational endeavors. The Bepko Scholars are known for their leadership on campus and in the community, specifically through their volunteerism and service to others.
As the most competitive and prestigious award program in the IU Indianapolis Honors College, Bepko Scholars are selected primarily for their demonstration of an outstanding commitment to service, in addition to academic excellence, integrity, and character. Each year, around 20 incoming first-year students, including one international student, are selected for this program through a holistic application and interview process.
Bepko Scholars are members of the IU Indianapolis Honors College, where they join a close-knit community of scholars, dedicated staff, and passionate faculty. Through the Honors College, Bepko Scholars may take advantage of personalized advising, special programming, exclusive living and study spaces, and financial support for study abroad. They may also apply for additional funding in pursuit of experiential learning opportunities such as research, internships, service learning, and academic conferences.
Bepko Scholars receive undergraduate tuition, fees, and books for four years of undergraduate study on IU Indianapolis’s campus. They also receive two years of on-campus housing. Bepko Scholars have the unique opportunity to attend graduate or professional school as a Bepko Fellow, and receive $5,000 per year for up four years of post-baccalaureate study.
