Graduating with honors: a recognition of excellence
Graduating with honors recognition is a remarkable achievement—something that fewer than 5% of the undergraduate students at IU Indianapolis accomplish. Graduating with honors means students complete at least 24 credit hours of honors coursework with at least a B and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3. Honors graduates will see “IU Indianapolis Honors College Scholar” on their diploma and transcript, and they receive honors cords and a medallion to wear at graduation.
The majority of our honors scholars graduate in four years and complete at least four engaged experiences, such as research, internships, study abroad, service, or other hands-on, immersive activities. They go on to graduate or attend professional schools or gain employment and begin impressive careers. We look forward to welcoming all of our graduates back as alumni, who serve as important role models for our current scholars.
