To Katherine, being a Bepko Scholar means showing high rigor in academic integrity in all aspects of classes and “it’s demonstrating that we can help our school environment by providing a level of giving back by working on our education.” Katherine is passionate about social injustice and hopes to fight to make sure that everyone can start on an equal playing field. Katherine’s most meaningful accomplishments in volunteering so far was giving back to those who don’t have the resources to provide for themselves and going on missionary trips to Wisconsin. She believes everyone should always pay it forward. When she was sixteen years old, she received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. She took care of the elderly which led her to understand the necessity of others. At IU Indianapolis, Katherine plans to join clubs that go along with career goals and beliefs. In her personal time, she is starting to become a book worm.
