Eva chose to attend IU Indianapolis because of the city feel the campus had to offer and the diversity and inclusivity on campus. Eva is very passionate about inclusivity and acceptance for everyone, particularly those in minority communities. She believes that everyone deserves to love who they want to love, and that people should not be discriminated against based off their race or ethnicity. In college, she hopes to be an active member of her community. She wants to be a “familiar and friendly face that other can turn to for help.” Additionally, she would love to help educate and advocate for others. Her most meaningful community service experience was the work she has done at the public library. She helped prepare and set up Toddle Time and Story Hour classes for several years. Through her volunteering, she has enjoyed helping young children experience the joy of reading for the first time. In her free time, she loves to listen to podcasts and older music. Fleetwood Mac is her favorite band. She also loves to bake, shop, and go thrifting. She hopes to attend graduate school and become a Genetic Counselor one day. Eva credits her family and friends as being an amazing support system for her. Cats are her favorite animal and her own cat, Sox, will be joining her at IU Indianapolis as an Emotional Support Animal.
