Connor chose to attend IU Indianapolis because of its excellent science departments and labs, the downtown location, opportunities for financial support, and it is the campus where he felt welcome and at home. To Connor, being a Bepko Scholar is somebody who chooses to use talents and abilities that have been gifted to them to not only better their lives and strive for greatness, but also uplift and assist others at every available opportunity. At college, hopes to volunteer in nearby hospitals and organize fundraisers for disease research. In high school, Connor was a Charlestown High School Heath Student Ambassador. Through this role, he organized and took leadership roles in open houses, freshman orientations, blood drives, job fairs, elementary training days, and several other types of events. He also served as a Nexgen Leadership Ambassador where he graduated from a service-based leadership program led by Leadership Southern Indiana where he played important roles in many service projects. Connor also helped in organizing his church’s annual Vacation Bible School Program. Additionally, Connor helped with the MBC Awana Program and MBC Helping Hands Program. In the Helping Hands Program, he supervised the program which helped give personalized care for children with special needs. Connor loves to fill his schedule with activities where he can give back to his community. In his free time, Connor enjoys reading, playing games, exploring outdoors, studying the Bible, and building with Legos. After college, he hopes to attend medical school to hopefully become a pediatrician. Connor is motivated and supported by “an amazing group of friends, family, and church, and without them what I do would not be possible.”
