Being a Bepko Scholar to Helen means that she has "more opportunity to create positive change within the IUPUI [now IU Indianapolis] community." At IU Indianapolis, she would like to serve within Honors College leadership to bolster educational ideals, standards of inclusion, and Honors College outreach. In high school, she served as class president, where she made changes and planned fun activities for her class. Throughout her service, she helped plan the entirety of homecoming week during her senior year, multiple movie nights, and an end-of-the-year zoo field trip. This position allowed her to make changes and simply build a more positive atmosphere, showing her the potential for student impact on a school environment.
