Ananya looks forward to contributing to the community as a Bepko Scholar and appreciates the university’s commitment to diversity and the local community. “Being a Bepko Scholar means being an example for service and leadership within the community. It reminds me to always uphold the values of kindness and compassion towards everyone” Ananya says. She is very passionate about eliminating health disparities and hopes to start a telehealth program to target this issue. Ananya is involved with the National Suicide Prevention’s “You Matter Youth Blogger Council” where she writes educational blogs about mental health awareness. She also teaches Ukrainian children conversational English through ENGin, a nonprofit organization that pairs volunteers with Ukrainian students. Ananya has been selected for many service awards and plans to pursue a career in pediatric psychiatry.
