The IU Indianapolis Honors College promotes national, prestigious scholarships by helping students with the application process. We offer workshops and individual assistance, and we also encourage students to seek faculty assistance.

Apply for national scholarships
Domestic study
Many nationally competitive scholarships are available to students to fund undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate studies in the United States. Award winners range from sophomores and juniors studying the humanities to pre-health majors.
Designated for undergraduates in math and all sciences and engineering. Goldwater awards are made to sophomores for two years, to juniors for one year.
For juniors who are U.S. citizens or nationals planning to attend graduate school in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Each scholar receives $2,000 immediately prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school. Students must apply through IU Indianapolis.
Designed for students with high GPAs who plan to pursue a career in public service. The student applies during the junior year; award begins during senior year ($2,000) and continues for initial years of graduate study ($24,000). Students who apply should be active in community service and campus leadership positions.
Awarded to undergraduates during sophomore or junior year for next academic year(s) to pursue studies in environmental sciences. Also available to Native American and Alaskan Natives. Award up to $5,000. Applicants should be familiar with work of Morris Udall.
International study
For graduating seniors who want to spend a year of study in another country before beginning their graduate careers, as well as for graduate student M.A. or Ph.D. research. Some countries require fluency in the language of the country and may require a plan of study through a university there. Fulbright awards pay travel, tuition, and a monthly stipend. Applicants must be nominated through Indiana University. Applications are administered through the IU Bloomington Office of International Affairs.
Named in honor of the former Senator's pivotal contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process, these scholarships will allow American post-graduates to pursue one year of study at institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Scholarship will be awarded to students who have shown both academic distinction and the potential for leadership. There are no restrictions as to academic field of study. Applications are administered through the IU Bloomington Office of International Affairs.
