Aditya chose IU Indianapolis because of his acceptance into the B/MD program, its proximity to home, and the energy of the urban setting. He was drawn to the opportunities the campus provides and the supportive community it fosters. To him, being a Bepko Scholar means helping people from all walks of life without expecting anything in return and doing so with humility and compassion.
A social issue he cares deeply about is healthcare inequality, as he believes access to care should not depend on someone’s background or circumstances. In high school, he served as president of his school’s food pantry, which gave him firsthand experience addressing needs within his community. In college, he hopes to continue being a support system for those in need while also expanding his impact through new service opportunities. Aditya plans to attend medical school after graduation to pursue his dream of becoming a pediatrician.
Outside of academics, Aditya enjoys playing and watching sports with friends and family. He also values meeting new people and learning from their perspectives. Most of all, he is motivated by the idea of growing as a person, no matter how small the progress is each day.
