Addison chose IU Indianapolis because of how personable the campus and community felt. She was also drawn to the many opportunities to get involved in the local community and the abundance of internship opportunities in the area.
To Addison, being a Bepko Scholar means living as an example to show how fulfilling life can be when we help others. In addition, she says that being a Bepko Scholar means working as a team, spreading kindness, and inspiring others to do the same.
Addison is passionate about humanitarianism and helping those who are less fortunate to reach a better standard of living. In high school, she volunteered with a nonprofit organization in Lafayette, IN, called “Heart and Sole,” which provides shoes for those in need. She plans to continue supporting organizations focused on humanitarianism during college.
Driven by a desire to ensure that people have access to basic needs, Addison plans to utilize IU Indianapolis’s extensive network to find new volunteer opportunities that align with this cause. Her previous volunteer work has helped her recognize the importance of empathy and connection within the community.
Addison also loves photography, reading, and playing volleyball. In the future, she also looks forward to traveling.
